STUDENTS FROM THE LAW SCHOOL
OF SOFIA UNIVERSITY “ST. KLIMENT OHRIDSKI” WON PRESTIGIOUS AWARDS AT THE INTERNATIONAL SPACE LAW COMPETITION MANFRED LACHS SPACE LAW MOOT COURT COMPETITION (MLSLMCC) 2026
The team expresses its sincere gratitude to the sponsors, “MULTIFORS A.S.” Ltd., for their support of the Faculty of Law at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski.”
This year’s competition took place in Poznań, Poland, from April 7 to 11, and attracted a record number of participants—24 teams from some of Europe’s most elite universities. The event was organized by the European Centre for Space Law and the International Institute of Space Law.
The team from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” achieved outstanding success at the largest and most prestigious space law competition—the Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition (MLSLMCC) 2026, winning 1st place for best written brief and 3rd place in the overall competition standings.
These results are the fruit of months of hard work and in-depth discussion of current space issues.
The following students took on the roles of counsel for the two disputing states in a mock trial before the International Court of Justice in The Hague:
- Radost Chaneva (3rd-year Law student)
- Kalina Asenova (4th-year International Relations student)
- Beatrice-Nicole Georgieva (3rd-year Law student)
The team’s coaches are Maria Popova, Dimana Peeva, and Plamena Nikolova, who are former participants in the same competition.
